    • Every institution that has REDCap has its own instance of REDCap, and configures and operates it independently.

  • OHSU's REDCap is hosted at OHSU's Advanced Computing Center (ACC) with limited physical access and on a secure server protected by OHSU firewalls.

    • Data transmissions encrypted over HTTPS with the industry standard TLS 1.2/1.3 protocol (AES 256-bit encryption).
    • Data is backed up nightly and back-ups stored at OHSU's Advanced Computing Center (ACC) and backups are retained for a period of 7 years.
    • Data is subject to OHSU an HIPAA rules and protocols to protect PHI.
    • REDCap is backed up and back ups are stored offsite.

  • REDCap is a web application that can be accessed on any device with an Internet connection.

    • Login is required and is Two Factor Authenticated.
      • OHSU network credentials for OHSU personnel.
      • REDCap log in credentials for non-OHSU personnel.
