Training projects can be useful tools for study teams who wish to orient study staff on how to use their project without the risk of creating data quality issues in their production project collecting real data. A training project is a copy of production project, and as such it is a snapshot of the production project at a specific point in time. Over time, the training project will drift out of sync with the set up of the production project. For studies where data collection spans multiple years, the study team will want to consider when to sunset an older training project.

How to Request a Training Project

  • The project point person requests a copy of their production project.
  • The point person appends **TRAINING** onto the end of the project title in the copy request.
  • All training project requests are reviewed and approved by the REDCap Team.

Terms of Use

  • No real study data is to be stored in the training project.
  • The training project is not to be used to test changes to the production project.
  • The study team is responsible for updating the training project to reflect any changes they made to their production project.
